Natasha is a partner of Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP.
Natasha has experience in complex insurance litigation matters, including the defence of professional negligence, defamation, sports and recreation liability, tavern liability, product liability, occupiers’ liability, and municipal claims. She also regularly handles subrogation and transportation matters. Natasha has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and various tribunals.
A selection of Natasha’s recent work includes:
Floryan v. Luke, 2023 ONSC 5108. Successful motion to strike amended amended statement of claim as against Western University in a medical malpractice action. The claim as against the university was struck in its entirety, without leave to further amend.
Doria v. Warner Bros. Entertainment Canada Inc., 2023 ONCA 321. Successful response to appeal of decision striking claim as an abuse of process.
Floryan v. Luke, 2022 ONSC 4809. Largely successful motion to strike statement of claim as against Western University in a medical malpractice action. The claim against the university was struck in its entirety, with leave to amend.
Barber v. Goerz, 2021 ONSC 3698. Successful motion to strike claims of defamation, negligence, breach of privacy, and breach of Charter as against personally-named employees of Mohawk College, without leave to amend.
Subway v. CBC, 2021 ONCA 25. Successful appeal of decision dismissing anti-SLAPP motion brought by Trent University against Subway.
